Jiacun Wang
Jiacun Wang, Senior Member, IEEE. Received the Ph.D. degree in computer engineering from Nanjing University of Science and Technology (NUST), China, in 1991. He is currently a professor of software engineering at Monmouth University, West Long Branch, New Jersey, USA. His research interests include software engineering, discrete event systems, formal methods, machine learning, and real-time distributed systems.

Shixin Liu
Shixin Liu, Senior Member, IEEE. He received the Ph.D. degree in Systems Engineering from Northeastern University, Shenyang, China, in 2000. He is currently a professor at the School of Information Science and Engineering, Northeastern University. His research interests include intelligent optimization algorithms, project management, and theories and methods of planning and scheduling. He has published over 200 papers, including 1 book.

Duc Truong Pham
Duc Truong Pham is a leading researcher in the fields of mechanical, manufacturing, computer, and systems engineering. He has published over 600 technical papers, authored 17 books, and supervised more than 100 doctoral theses. He has secured over £30 million in research funding and collaborated with numerous renowned companies to apply research outcomes to industrial practice. He has delivered more than 50 keynote speeches worldwide and has been a visiting professor at top institutions in France, China, New Zealand, and Saudi Arabia. He has received multiple IMechE awards, the Lifetime Achievement Award in 2016, and the Outstanding International Academic Contribution Award in 2017. He is a fellow of several prestigious engineering societies and was awarded the OBE honor in 2003.

Eugenio Cesario
Eugenio Cesario is an associate professor at the DICES Department of Computer Engineering, University of Calabria, Italy. His research interests cover a wide range of fields, including data analysis and parallel/distributed data mining, urban computing, smart cities, energy-efficient cloud computing, cloud/grid service architectures, and applications of knowledge discovery. He has co-authored over 70 scientific papers in international journals, conference proceedings, and edited volumes. He is also a member of the Scientific Committee of the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) doctoral program at the University of Calabria.

Zhiwu Li
Zhiwu Li (M’06–SM’07–F’16) is an IEEE Fellow. His current research interests include Petri net theory and its applications, supervisory control of discrete event systems, workflow modeling and analysis, system reconfiguration, game theory, and data and process mining. He is a standing reviewer for over 60 international journals, including Automatica and several IEEE journals, and has served as a reviewer for numerous international conferences. He is also the founding chair of the IEEE Systems, Man, and Cybernetics Society Xi’an Chapter.

Haibin Zhu
Haibin Zhu is an IEEE Fellow. He is a full – time professor and coordinator of the Computer Science program at Nipissing University in Canada, the founding director of the Collaborative Systems Laboratory, and a member of the university’s Budget Planning Committee and the Executive Committee of the Faculty of Arts and Science. He is also an adjunct professor at Concordia University in Canada and a visiting professor at Laurentian University. He has completed (published or forthcoming) over 280 research works, including more than 50 IEEE Transactions papers, six books, five book chapters, four journal special issues, and four conference proceedings.

Hui Yu
Hui Yu is a Senior Member of IEEE. He is a professor at the University of Glasgow and leads the Vision and Cognitive Computing Group there. His research interests focus on the fields of vision and cognitive computing as well as machine learning, with applications covering 4D facial expression modeling and analysis, human-computer interaction, intelligent vehicles, and video analysis. Professor Yu’s research achievements have received several awards and have established successful collaborations with numerous institutions and industries worldwide. He also serves as a scientific advisor to several high-tech companies in the UK.

Xiaoou Li
Xiaoou Li received her Ph.D. from Northeastern University in 1995. She is currently a professor in the Department of Computer Science at the National Polytechnic Institute of Mexico. Her research interests include machine learning, data science, and data-driven sustainable and green automation. She has published over 100 papers in authoritative journals and conferences in these fields. In addition, Dr. Li is an active organizer of IEEE RAS, SMC, CIS, and WIE society events and conferences. She has served as the General Chair for ICNSC’2016 and CASE’2022, and the Program Chair for SSCI’2023.

Ying Tang
Ying Tang, Senior Member of IEEE, received her Ph.D. from the New Jersey Institute of Technology in 2001. She is currently a full – time professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Rowan University in Glassboro, New Jersey, USA. Her research interests are primarily focused on the fields of discrete event systems and visualization, including virtual reality/augmented reality, modeling and adaptive control of computer – integrated systems, intelligent serious games, green manufacturing and automation, as well as Petri nets.

Jun Huang
Jun Huang is a Distinguished Researcher in the Department of Electronic and Information Engineering. His research interests cover a wide range of fields, including intelligent remanufacturing technology, robotics and automation, and human-robot collaboration. With extensive academic experience, he has worked at the University of Birmingham in the United Kingdom and collaborated with Professor Duc Truong Pham, a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering. As the first or corresponding author, he has published more than 20 high – level academic papers and two book chapters, obtained seven national patent authorizations, and participated in several major EU and UK scientific research projects.

Bin Hu
Bin Hu, Senior Member of IEEE, received his Bachelor’s degree from Xi’an Jiaotong University, Xi’an, China, in 2000, and obtained dual Master’s degrees from Xi’an Jiaotong University, China, and Monmouth University, New Jersey, USA, in 2005 and 2018, respectively. He was awarded his Ph.D. from Rutgers University, New Brunswick, USA, in 2023. From 2005 to 2016, he served as an assistant professor at Xi’an University of Posts and Telecommunications, China. Currently, he is an assistant professor in the Department of Computer Science and Technology at Kean University, USA. His research interests include mobile computing and sensing, cybersecurity and privacy, and efficient deep learning.

Liang Qi
Liang Qi is a Senior Member of IEEE. He is currently a lecturer in the Department of Computer Science and Technology at Shandong University of Science and Technology in Qingdao, China. He has published over 50 technical papers in journals and conference proceedings, including the journals IEEE Transactions on Systems, Man and Cybernetics: Systems, IEEE Transactions on Intelligent Transportation Systems, and IEEE/CAA Journal of Automatica Sinica. He was a finalist for the Best Student Paper Award at the 15th IEEE International Conference on Networking, Sensing and Control (ICNSC’2018). His current research interests include Petri nets, discrete event systems, and optimization algorithms.

Xiwang Guo
Xiwang Guo is a Senior Member of IEEE. He obtained his Ph.D. in Systems Engineering from Northeastern University in Shenyang, China in 2015. Currently, he is an associate professor at the School of Computer and Communication Engineering, Shihua University of Liaoning Province, China. He has published more than 100 technical papers in journals and conference proceedings. His research interests include Petri nets, remanufacturing, automotive recycling and reuse, as well as intelligent optimization algorithms.

Yuanyuan Tan
Yuanyuan Tan’s research focuses on optimization and scheduling problems in steel production processes. As the first author, she has published or had accepted a total of 14 papers related to scheduling, among which six have been indexed by SCI, and 13 have been indexed by EI. These papers have been published in well – known international and domestic journals. She has presided over one National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) Youth Project and three provincial – level fund projects. In 2015, she was selected into the “Ten Thousand Talents Program” of Liaoning Province (the ninth batch of the “Hundred, Thousand, and Ten Thousand Talents Project”).

Xu Wang
Xu Wang received his Bachelor’s degree in Automation from Liaoning University of Technology in Jinzhou, China, in 2006, his Master’s degree in Control Theory and Control Engineering in 2010, and his Ph.D. in Systems Engineering from Northeastern University in Shenyang, China, in 2017. Currently, he is an associate professor in the Department of Computer Science and Technology at Shenyang University of Chemical Technology in China. His research interests cover logistics and supply chain management, project management and human resource optimization, as well as robust optimization. He has published more than 30 journal and conference papers in the aforementioned fields.

Jian Zhao
Jian Zhao received his Bachelor’s degree in 2004 and Master’s degree in 2007 from Liaoning University of Science and Technology in Anshan, China, and his Ph.D. in Systems Engineering from Northeastern University in Shenyang, China, in 2019. He is currently an associate professor at the School of Science, Liaoning University of Science and Technology in China. His research focuses on economic dispatch and coal co – firing in power systems, as well as intelligent optimization algorithms. To date, he has published more than 20 papers in international journals and conferences in related fields.

Shujin Qin
Shujin Qin is a member of IEEE. He received his Ph.D. in Systems Engineering from Northeastern University in Shenyang, China, in 2019. In 2019, he joined Shangqiu Normal University in China and is currently a lecturer in the field of artificial intelligence. His research interests include large-scale integer programming, vehicle routing problems, reinforcement learning, and intelligent optimization algorithms.
